CNC Machinist

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

• To setup and execute the job on machine as per requirement

• Study the requirement by looking in to drawing and relevant procedures

• Establish a method to maximize efficiency

• Input CNC program

• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

• Verifies settings by measuring positions

• Perform simulation

• Execute the job on machine

• Inspect the components to ensure compliance

• Confirm completion by signing the work order routing

• House keeping

• Coordinate with supervisor for job priorities.

• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements

• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

EHS Responsibilities (Environment, Health and Safety):

• Ensure the implementation of the Company EHS Policy for the prevention of injury, damage or loss to Company personnel and resources.

• Adhere to the risk assessment controls identified.

• Not interfere or misuse any equipment supplied.

• Maintain equipment supplied for carrying out work tasks including daily maintenance where appropriate.

• Use personal protective equipment supplied in accordance with site risk assessments and site rules.

• Attend any suitable training to ensure that they are competent to perform their duties safely.

• Comply with any rules specific to a particular site and any Company wide health, safety or environmental requirements.

• Report any injuries, unsafe acts or conditions to line managers.

• Support EHS policy to help deliver cultural development and sustained continual improvement in EHS performance

• Complies with company requirements for number of observation cards submitted and holds his direct team responsible for the same.

Quality Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring the QMS System is appropriate and up to date

• Is responsible to ensure that all staff act in a responsible way towards Quality and feel empowered and engaged to ensure work is completed correctly.

• Responsible for quality of all products, services and facility capability and cleanliness.

• Manage all warranty and scrap expenses.

Job Knowledge, Education and Qualifications:

• 1 to 2 years of experience in the setting and operation of CNC machines.

• Understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, symbols.

• Familiar with API & Premium connections such as VAM & TENARIS.

• Basic knowledge of measuring equipment, such as micrometer, Vernier.

• Understanding of the English language (written and oral)

• Understand engineering principals, such as speed, feeds, different metal characteristics, drilling, turning, threading.

• Understanding of cutting tools and inserts

• Understanding of CNC machine tools and their capabilities.

• Understanding of CNC programs would be an advantage.

• Be able to work on his own initiative and with minimal supervision.
